Say “Anko” to most Filipinos and they’ll picture everyday essentials from storage bins and nifty homeware to cute giftables, trinkets, and more. But the Australian brand has been quietly building out a full beauty lineup, lip products included, and it’s just as easy on the wallet as everything else on its shelves.
That range took center stage at MEGA BeautyCon 2026, where The Beauty Edit joined Anko for a makeup lesson on making the most of your lip products. Rather than treating each lipstick as a one-look product, the session showed how much versatility you can get from a single formula. The way you apply it, build it up, or pair it with another product can change the finished look entirely.
Across two days, The Beauty Edit Founder Nicole Morales, Managing Editor Elaine Reyes, and Assistant Editor Caryll Cabuhat walked attendees through three techniques using Anko’s range of lip essentials: The Full, Glossy Lip, The Blurred Lip, and The Defined Lip. Each look demonstrated a different approach to color, shape, texture, and finish, with pre-recorded demonstrations featuring The Beauty Edit editors.
The session also offered a closer look at just how much Anko has packed into its lip lineup. From lip balm and liner to matte lipstick, satin-finish lip color, tinted glosses, and high-shine formulas, there are plenty of ways to mix, match, layer, and play depending on the look you’re after. And experimenting doesn’t have to mean spending big: Most of Anko’s lip products are priced below ₱500, with some starting at just ₱60. It’s a lineup that makes trying a new lip look feel less like a splurge and more like part of the fun.
The Full, Glossy Lip
For the first look, The Beauty Edit Founder Nicole Morales demonstrated how gloss can do more than add shine—it can also give lips a fuller, more dimensional appearance.
The first step was lip prep. She used the Anko Sphere Lip Balm to give the lips a quick hydration boost before adding color. This is especially useful for a glossy look, where a smoother base can help the finish appear more even.
She then applied the Juicy Gloss in Sweet Coconut across the lips, concentrating extra product at the center of both the upper and lower lips. Rather than applying an even layer from edge to edge, focusing the gloss at the center adds subtle dimension and gives the appearance of fuller lips without needing to apply a thick layer all over.
To finish, Morales used the Lip Liner in Dusty Rose to define and enhance the shape of the lips.

The Blurred Lip
The second look takes a softer approach. Rather than creating a crisp outline, The Blur uses two complementary shades and strategic blending to create a diffused, gradient-like effect.
The Beauty Edit’s Managing Editor Elaine Reyes began lip prep with the Kiwi Scented Lip Balm, followed by a small amount of concealer to neutralize the natural lip color and create a more even base. From there, she applied the Matte Lipstick in Sultry all over the lips as the base shade.
For the pop of color, she added Matte Lipstick in Apple, a brighter red, to the center of the lips. She kept the strongest concentration of color in the middle, then diffused it toward the edges for that soft-focus finish. The contrast between the softer base and the more intense inner shade is what gives the look its dimension.
The final step was blending the color outward with a Q-tip to soften the transition. For an even quicker application, you can use your fingertips instead.
Unlike a defined lip, this technique doesn’t require a lip liner. The goal is the opposite of the first look: soft edges and a seamless fade from the center outward.

The Defined Lip
The final look offers the most precise approach of the three. The Beauty Edit Assistant Editor Caryll Cabuhat focused on enhancing the natural shape of her already-full lips rather than adding dramatic volume.
She started with Lip Liner in Dusty Rose, slightly extending beyond her natural lip line for a subtle shaping effect. The key is restraint, as a small amount of overlining, particularly around the cupid’s bow, can alter the shape without making the line look obvious.
Next she applied Lip Lustre in Coco across the lips in sections rather than in one quick swipe. The satin finish gives the look polish while remaining comfortable on drier lips.
For those who want more shine, the optional final step is High Shine in Dusk, layered over the lipstick for an added glossy finish.
