Five years isn’t a lifetime in this industry, but it’s long enough to learn what truly matters. Long enough to build trust, refine your standards, and understand your voice in a loud beauty landscape. And for a small, purpose-driven project like The Beauty Edit to reach this milestone—it feels a little like releasing an album you never imagined would grow into a catalogue.
So as we celebrate our fifth anniversary with The Beauty Edit Pop Awards and a special edition of The Beauty Edit Box, I wanted this note to feel like a track you’d play from side A to side B—a little reflective, a little grateful, and just honest.
If these five years have taught me anything, it’s the power of experience. Experience can’t be faked, not even in the age of AI. You earn your instincts by doing the work. You sharpen your judgment by staying consistent. And in a space where trends are like new singles dropping every hour, experience becomes your advantage and anchor.
This year, we took one of our boldest steps yet with The Beauty Edit Gallery at Spatio. A reminder that Filipino beauty deserves a real home, real storytelling, and real discovery. And for our team, a reminder that small ideas can become something meaningful when nurtured with intention.
But perhaps my favorite lesson from the last five years is this: There is space for everyone. This industry isn’t a zero-sum game. Growth is collective. A rising tide lifts all boats; I remember reading this and it stuck to me. The Beauty Edit will always choose to be part of that—creating spaces where creators, editors, brands, experts, and everyday beauty lovers can exist and grow without feeling like they have to compete for oxygen. This is the heart of our community. And always for us, community will always hold more weight than clout.
Whether you’ve been here since Volume 1 or you’ve just discovered us—thank you. Thank you for reading, attending, tagging, sharing, asking, learning, critiquing, supporting, and growing with us. Every tiny interaction has built something bigger than we ever expected.
Our Greatest Hits album is a celebration of the people, the creativity, and the stories that make beauty worth talking about. It’s a love letter to the industry and a reminder that beauty should be intentional, thoughtful, fun, and meant to make you feel good.
Here’s to five years, to new tracks, and to everything still unwritten.
