Fragrance of the Week: Diptyque Fleur de Peau

Discover this favorite Diptyque perfume, Fleur de Peau, which now comes in a full fragrance line with a hair mist, body lotion, body wash, and hand cream.
Reading Time: 6 minutes

Diptyque Fleur de Peau–we’ve long called this an iris masterpiece; iris done right, if not perfect. It’s well-blended, making it one of the best examples of a clean, skin scent. After years of enjoying the eau de parfum and hand cream, we’re thrilled to share that it now comes in two new fragrance iterations: a hair mist and a hand and body cream.

Do not be fooled by its name, Diptyque Fleur de Peau doesn’t smell like your typical floral, which is what makes this soft, warm, musky ‘floral’ execution a major hit. It’s the best, most addictive Diptyque in our book, a 10/10.

It opens with a distinct burst of pink pepper and aldehydes, before the iris note softens the mood. The fragrance settles with its soft cottony warmth and a clean yet sensual smell emerges from its musk, ambrette, leather, and amberwood base notes.

It’s impossible to talk about Diptyque’s Fleur de Peau without mentioning Glossier You, for which many fragrance aficionados have compared it. After all, both have similar keynotes (iris, amber, pink pepper…). While their entrance is nearly the same, the longevity and drydown are miles apart. If we may, Fleur de Peau is Glossier You times 10—with incredible lasting power, a distinct sillage, and the most pleasant baby-like drydown you’ll want to smell over and over again. For some reason, the hair mist smells even more wonderful hours after it’s spritzed on our locks.

The lotions are a velvety formulation that completes the fragrance experience while repairing and protecting the skin with aloe vera and macadamia oil. They’re light and non-greasy, an indulgence that feels like a necessity.

Fleur de Peau is a fragrance that doesn’t dissipate into what’s called ‘olfactory adaptation;’ it will linger here and there and you will smell wonderful remnants of it throughout the day. It’s great for all-day (and all-night) wear. It could also be the perfect scent to wear to bed, linking your skin and hair and your pristine white sheets, and you wake up to a gorgeous, clean whiff from your neck and locks.

Diptyque’s Fleur de Peau comes in various iterations, perfect for layering. Discover the line from its hair and body care offerings.
