With the fragrance boom the past couple of years came the rise of something we all thought was unnecessary: hair perfumes. While we’ve been obsessed with them for years, we’re thrilled to find practically every fragrance house having this genius of an idea on offer.
Hair fragrances are not just complementary products to your body perfumes–they can also be (less expensive) alternatives. Many of our favorite scents last on our locks the whole day, which isn’t so much of a surprise since they’re usually composed of hydrating ingredients that the hair absorbs and fragrance molecules that the hair retains. Although of course some hair perfumes are subtler versions of their EDP counterparts, and thus fade faster.
Many, if not all, hair perfumes are also alcohol-free—its main difference between your regular perfume, which is actually not ideal to be sprayed on your locks for the obvious reason that alcohol is drying and could cause damage or breakage for your hair.
We love that many of them are handy, which you can keep in your purse for scent retouch throughout the day, especially after eating at a restaurant, if you know what we mean.
