It’s got something to do with humidity. When dry hair absorbs humidity, the hair shaft expands in the unruliest ways possible and voila—frizz.

Phyto’s Phytodefrisant line–we assume because its formulation envelops the hair in a humidity-proof film–gives us tamer, straighter locks like we’re in Paris in springtime and we love it.

The Anti-Frizz Shampoo lathers, cleans, and leaves hair feeling stiff after rinsing, so if you’re used to silky, slippy locks after using a smoothening shampoo or conditioner, this can feel a bit odd–but believe us when we say TRUST. THE. PROCESS. While this looks like every other shampoo, this golden liquid is actually a gel-textured oil with a coconut-derived surfactant for a nice lather that easily rinses out. It also has solubilized Kukui oil which nourishes the hair fiber without the usual weight you get from oil-infused hair products and quinoa proteins that protect the hair by forming a supple film.

We were already happy with the result from the shampoo alone, until we used Phyto’s Anti-Frizz Blow-Dry Balm, its iconic botanical straightening gel. While it’s heat activated and works great for days you actually have time to blowdry, it also works on damp hair as a non-sticky, non-greasy leave-on conditioner. This has 97% natural origin ingredients including Guar gum, which creates a film-forming gum on the hair fiber for humidity protection and extending hairstyles. It also has a taming botanical complex that protects hair while leaving it softer and shinier.

The new Anti-Frizz Touchup Care, meanwhile, is for non-sticky, on-the-go taming. It comes with a built-in brush for precise defrizzing throughout the day like after a workout or when it’s extra humid outside. We like using this in place of styling gel for the clean brushed up look.

We’re used to splurging for products that work like this, so we’re happy that Phyto is accessible at Rustan’s The Beauty Source. P745 for the shampoo, P945 for the balm, and P1,450 for the touchup.
