A Day for Beauty and Wellness

Entrepreneurs’ Organization members had an intuitive time engaging in talks and activities on personal color theory, scenting spaces, scalpcare, and a more comprehensive system to know your skin type.
Reading Time: 8 minutes

It’s always a joy for us at The Beauty Edit to be part of things that make people feel good. We enjoyed helping organize the recent beauty and wellness mixer for Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) with some of the country’s most impactful and influential business leaders.

When it comes to fashion and beauty, home and scents, and overall wellness, the journey never ends—there’s always something new to learn and explore as time goes on. Hence, taking a day off their busy schedules, members of EO gathered for what was to become a fun and insightful series of talks and activities, with guest speakers who walked them through each category.

To kick things off, the program began with a topic that captured everyone’s attention in the wake of the pandemic: color analysis. Led by certified color consultant Ingrid Nieto, EO members delved into the fascinating world of color theory. From understanding the spectrum of colors to discovering how to choose the right shades for their skin tones—this undoubtedly excited every guest to have their own analysis done after the presentation.

Following Nieto’s session, fragrance enthusiasts had their moment with Bernadette Lim, a professionally trained fragrance specialist. She went into detail about the importance of customizing a scent for your personal space. Much like the signature aroma that wafts through your sense of smell as you walk into a mall, aligning a custom fragrance to the interior of a home, room, or workplace enhances first impressions and enriches the overall character of a space. After her talk, guests had a chance to bring home a scent or scent mix of their choice.

To keep things going, we indulged in the science of scalpcare as Svenson trichologist Shai Aya-ay debunked common myths, highlighted the latest causes of hair issues, and shared tips for maintaining a healthy scalp for optimal hair health. It was definitely an eye-opener for many guests since hair care has become increasingly relevant—something that has been long overdue, in our opinion!

The final talk of the day took on a more personal tone, as guests were invited to explore their skin health with board-certified dermatologists, Drs. Isa Palabyab-Imperial and Anna Palabyab-Rufino. Using the Baumann Skin Type® Quiz, they introduced the concept of the 16 distinct skin types, going beyond the usual four. The talk included the skin types Baumann has on its roster, as well as knowing common issues and symptoms and how to prevent them from further manifesting on the skin. It was then topped off with the guests testing out their knowledge with a quick game to see if they got their skincare ingredients right for the corresponding skin type flashed on the screen.

No event is complete without activities, and the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as EO members mingled with the guest speakers. Nieto offered personalized color analyses to nearly every guest, Svenson was fully equipped for scalp assessments right from the start, and Lim guided her fellow fragheads into choosing which scent would be most fitting for them or how to blend their choice of notes properly.

Of course, we couldn’t help but end the day on a happy note, giving The Beauty Edit kits to all speakers and guests. We had the best time curating kits and prizes filled with products we love from Shiseido, Cle de Peau Beaute, Jo Malone London, Happy Skin, Narciso Rodriguez, Hello Glow, Spotlight Cosmetics, Hyaloo, and Ever Bilena, among many others. Thank you to our partners for always supporting us in the things we do and all we aspire to become, and of course EO for making us a part of this. All in all, it was an insightful day filled with curiosity and delight, and with that, we’d like to say, til’ the next!
