Welcome to Where Beauty Stories Come to Life

A new chapter in Filipino beauty begins at The Beauty Edit Gallery at Spatio—an editorial-led retail concept and the first of its kind in the local scene.
Reading Time: 13 minutes

Beauty once lived in the pages of magazines, guided by trusted editors. Then social media turned discovery into a global conversation—fast, fun, and ever-changing. Today, beauty sits at the intersection of both worlds—where expertise meets experience, and the thrill of discovery is once again intentional.

The Beauty Edit Gallery at Spatio bridges both worlds: expert-led, experience-driven, and built for the way we discover beauty now. It is housed within Spatio, Robinsons Retail’s pioneering concept store championing local artistry and craftsmanship. Located in Opus Mall, this first-of-its-kind concept transforms a digital platform for beauty discovery into a living gallery—where stories aren’t just written but displayed, swatched, and lived. At its heart, it’s a celebration of Filipino beauty: spotlighting some of the country’s indie innovators, cult icons, and niche trailblazers shaping the local scene.

“What excites me most is how this allows us to reimagine what beauty retail can look like,” Martin de Leon, Deputy General Manager of Spatio, says of this collaboration. “The Beauty Edit brings curation, storytelling, and sensorial discovery to the forefront, values that align perfectly with what Spatio stands for. Together, we’re creating a space that feels elevated but also deeply personal, where each product, scent, and texture tells a story.”

Here, editors, creators, industry pros, and experts are your guides—curating “true edits” that tell stories of niche finds, timeless classics, and new discoveries worth trying.

Makeup counters come alive with mini tutorials so you can learn the pros’ tricks then shop their picks. Skincare stations let you deep-dive into ingredients and formulas—guided by expert insight. Hair and bodycare spaces turn daily routines into mindful rituals, while the fragrance bar lets you experience the scents straight from their founders. And then there’s The Editor’s Desk—an ever-evolving showcase of editors’ ultimate favorites, inspired by The Beauty Edit’s signature stories.

A homecoming for beauty journalism—in a physical, sensory space—The Beauty Edit Gallery at Spatio goes beyond trends. It celebrates storytelling and discernment at the heart of discovery, showing that beauty, when told well, is both art and experience.

The Beauty Edit Gallery at Spatio is on the third floor of Opus Mall, Bridgetowne Destination Estate, Quezon City.

A Note From the Editor

Beauty With Intention

Beauty has always been a reflection of our times—what we value, how we express ourselves,  how we care for one another. And today, it continues to evolve in ways that inspire curiosity,  creativity, and connection.

When I started The Beauty Edit, it was with a simple belief: that beauty should make you feel  good. That discovery should come with learning, that products should be chosen with care, and  that every story should come from a place of intention—something that gives value, sparks  curiosity, and helps people learn something new.

Today, that belief takes physical form here at Spatio.

The Beauty Edit at Spatio aims to be an experience, envisioned as a gallery of beauty with  purpose. A space where you can see, touch, and experience its very heart: discovery with  intention–all featuring Filipino brands. This collaboration brings together so many people who  share the same vision—editors, experts, brand founders, creators, and beauty lovers. It’s a  collective edit, built not just on trends but on trust, expertise, and genuine curiosity.

I always say that when people’s dreams come true, it’s often because somebody believed in  them. This moment would not have been possible without Spatio and Robinsons Retail. They  didn’t just let us do what we do—they helped make the vision a reality. For that, we will always  be grateful.

The Beauty Edit has always chosen to work with brands we believe in—brands that value  purpose, respect, integrity, and innovation, among others. We look for those who care deeply  about what they make, who see beauty as experience, and who strive to uplift others in the  process. These same values are reflected in Spatio itself, a space built on vision, collaboration,  and community; one that supports Filipino talent, celebrates quality, and believes in experiences  that go beyond the surface.

It’s also a milestone for Filipino beauty. For years, we’ve seen homegrown brands grow— innovating, elevating, and creating products that can stand proudly beside the world’s best.  Through the F-Beauty Gallery, we celebrate that movement: the creativity, integrity, and  excellence that define our own beauty industry. For this round, we have many under-the-radar  gems, indie innovators, niche trailblazers in Filipino Beauty truly worth discovering.

Every display, every shelf, every product story here has been chosen with intention. We wanted  to create a space that brings back what we love most about beauty—the excitement of trying  something new, the satisfaction of finding something that truly works, and the joy of  reconnecting with beauty for the pure pleasure of it. I have always been anti-budol—and

definitely beyond advocating the haul culture–despite the nature of my job. The goal isn’t to  push endless products, but to help you find the ones you’ll truly love, use, and enjoy.

As you move through this gallery, take your time. Read the notes, test the textures, smell the  scents, and learn the stories behind the brands. Let curiosity lead you. Because this space was  built for that very feeling—for discovering beauty the way we believe it’s meant to be: fun,  enriching, and made with meaning.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible team working with me at The  Beauty Edit—Anika, Elaine, Nicole, Dannah, Caryll, Justine, Lyka—who have poured their  creativity, focus, and heart into every detail of this project. What you see here is the result of  many late nights, endless edits, and an unwavering belief in what we do. I’m endlessly proud  and grateful to work with a team that shares this vision and keeps our purpose alive in  everything we create. Please enjoy the work of our hearts!

Welcome to The Beauty Edit at Spatio.

We’re so glad and so grateful you’re here.

Spotlight on Spatio: A New Era for Filipino Beauty Retail

Spanning 7,800 square meters across three thoughtfully designed levels inside Opus Mall in  Quezon City, Spatio brings together over 100 Filipino makers, designers, and artisans under  one roof. More than a store, it’s a hub of local creativity—where fashion, design, food, and  beauty converge. With the launch of The Beauty Edit Gallery, this lifestyle destination expands  its vision further, welcoming 25 Filipino beauty brands into its growing curation.

“We didn’t create this space for spectacle; it’s designed for connection,” shares Spatio Deputy  General Manager Martin de Leon, emphasizing authenticity as the foundation of their newest  concept.

From the moment Spatio decided to tap The Beauty Edit, he says it was clear it wasn’t a typical  retail collaboration. “We wanted to create something transformative for the local beauty scene.  When we saw how founders and creatives connected with the concept, it became clear we  weren’t just building a beauty gallery—we were shaping a movement that celebrates Filipino  beauty in a new, elevated way.”

“We’re showing that local brands can sit confidently alongside global names, in a setting that’s both world-class and distinctly Filipino.”

—Martin de Leon, Spatio Deputy General Manager

In this quick interview, de Leon reflects on shaping a space that celebrates beauty with depth and intention.

What makes this concept a milestone for Spatio—and even for the local beauty retail scene?

It’s a milestone because it bridges two worlds: creative retail and beauty artistry. For Spatio, it  marks our first fully immersive beauty concept, one that moves beyond display to dialogue. And  for the local scene, it represents how far Filipino beauty has come. We’re showing that local brands can sit confidently alongside global names, in a setting that’s both world-class and  distinctly Filipino.

The gallery introduces a new kind of beauty space. How do you think it changes the way  people discover and experience beauty?

It shifts beauty from being transactional to experiential. Instead of browsing shelves, you’re  stepping into a story, an evolving gallery that mirrors how beauty trends, moods, and identities  constantly change. It’s about discovery and connection, not just purchase. Every visit feels fresh  and intentional.

Spatio has always been a home for Filipino creativity. Why was it important for you to highlight local talent through this collaboration?

Because that’s the heart of Spatio. We’ve always believed Filipino creativity deserves to be  seen in its full potential, refined, relevant, and ready for the world stage. Through this  collaboration, we’re not only showcasing local brands but also giving them a platform where  their artistry is elevated, not tokenized.

How do you envision this gallery influencing Filipinos’ perception of “premium” beauty retail?

“Premium” is no longer just about price; it’s about thoughtfulness, curation, and cultural  relevance. This collaboration redefines premium as purposeful: rooted in local identity, but  executed with global standards. It’s a new kind of sophistication, conscious, creative, and  community-driven.

What kind of impression or impact do you hope this space leaves—on both shoppers  and the industry?

I hope it leaves a sense of pride and curiosity. For shoppers, that means feeling inspired to  explore homegrown beauty with fresh eyes. I hope they say, “It felt different.” That it was  beautiful but not intimidating, inspiring but still personal. That it made them want to slow down,  explore, and connect with the brands and stories behind what they use every day.

For the industry, I hope it encourages more meaningful collaborations, ones that merge retail,  design, and culture to create lasting impact.

If you could capture The Beauty Edit at Spatio in one word or phrase, what would it be—and why?

“Beauty, EDITed and reimagined.” Because it’s not just about how things look, it’s about how  they make you feel, think, and connect. It’s beauty told through experience, emotion, and  evolution.
