In this edition of The Editor’s Room featuring NIVEA, we gathered a community of beauty enthusiasts for Superwoman Rising—a get-together that celebrates the resilience and strength of women, embodied by NIVEA’s Super 10 Body Serum. The event also provided an inspiring platform for four remarkable women to share their stories.

We started with the Empowerment Jar filled with simple yet powerful questions designed to help each guest reflect on moments that made them feel like Superwomen. Guests took turns picking a question from the jar and sharing their answers, bringing everyone together and sparking inspiring conversations.

The event then proceeded with an engaging forum featuring four influential women from diverse backgrounds: travel and lifestyle content creator Jen Barangan, visual and tattoo artist Wiji Lacsamana, singer-songwriter Nica Del Rosario, and entrepreneur and beauty creator Mae Layug. Each of them shared personal stories that captured what it means to be a Superwoman, emphasizing how they navigated challenges, embraced their passions, and ultimately found their voices in their respective fields.

Jen started things off with a powerful talk highlighting how resilience became her superpower, helping her navigate career shifts, fulfill her dream of becoming a flight attendant, and rise as a content creator during the pandemic. Her adventures encouraged guests to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new experiences.

Wiji Lacsamana followed up with her journey through different creative pursuits, inspiring everyone to be fearless in expressing themselves. She highlighted that true power comes from understanding yourself, recognizing your weaknesses, and leveraging your strengths.

As a musician and gender rights advocate, Nica Del Rosario opened up about the challenges she faces in a male-dominated industry. Despite her success, she stays focused on her passion and uses her music to empower other women. To top it off, she treated everyone to her own rendition of Tala, the hit song she wrote for Sarah Geronimo.

Finally, Mae Layug shared her journey of building GRWM Cosmetics. She revealed the determination it took to break into the beauty industry and highlighted GRWM’s commitment to understanding and addressing the specific beauty needs and preferences of Filipinos, creating product formulations tailored for the tropical climate, and offering shades that complement diverse skin tones so that everyone can find products that work for them.

We were also honored to have Nikki Seelen, the Marketing Director of Beiersdorf Philippines as well as Cathleen Relator, Brand Manager for Body of Beiersdorf Philippines, join us to share insights about the brand and tell us more about the Super 10 Body Serum.

Along with the inspiring talks, guests were invited to dive into self-reflection and discovery through different activities. A vision board-making session gave everyone a fun way to visualize their dreams and aspirations. Plus, the Super 10 game gave everyone a shot at winning exciting prizes while learning about the key benefits of the NIVEA Super 10 Body Serum.

Superwoman Rising left everyone feeling inspired and uplifted by the incredible stories shared by Jen, Wiji, Nica, and Mae. Their journeys resonated deeply with everyone, reinforcing the belief that every woman has her unique superpowers and can rise to new heights together.
