In this edition of The Editor’s Room featuring Prada, fragrance enthusiasts were treated to an exclusive masterclass that offered a deep dive into the newest additions to the brand’s Les Infusions collection and the Paradoxe collection. Held at the Uptown Mall in Taguig City, guests were immersed in a scent discovery journey led by Lynn Chow, brand trainer of L’Oreal International Distribution, alongside Nicole Wong, brand manager of L’Oreal International Distribution, both flying in from Singapore to share their expertise with us.
The masterclass began with an introduction to Prada’s iconic Les Infusions line, a collection of unisex, second-skin fragrances known for capturing the essence of a single, primary note without overwhelming the senses. As the program went on, the guests were guided through each scent family in the series, allowing them to explore the nuances and intricate layers that make this line unique. Think of it as a quick opening to becoming a fragrance connoisseur.
As the guests indulged in the different scents in the collection, they also had a rare chance to be a part of the launch and experience the newest addition to Prada fragrances’ repertoire, the Infusion de Gingembre. The fragrance was revealed to the audience as a fresh, invigorating twist to the collection, as they highlighted the spicy character of ginger and its combination with subtle hints of citrus notes. This exceptional blend intrigued the senses of those in the room, and it was met with such enthusiasm and appreciation. On top of that, Chow shared invaluable tips on how to make the most of the fragrance, including where to best apply the scents—like pulse points and areas that naturally generate warmth, such as the wrists—for longer wear.
Up next was the discovery of Prada’s Paradoxe collection, a line known for its bold, innovative fragrance profiles and its refillable nature. To fully immerse the guests in the experience, they were served jasmine tea for a subtle nod at the notes that would later be revealed in Prada’s latest fragrance.
Onto the highlight of the event: the launch of the Paradoxe Virtual Flower. This fragrance is groundbreaking since it’s one of the first created with artificial intelligence, combining floral notes with a futuristic edge. As mentioned, the jasmine tea that was served complemented the key ingredient of the fragrance, which is the Jasmine AI accord, and for this particular ingredient, Chow explained how AI played a significant role in reinterpreting the jasmine to birth a scent that exudes a unique fragrance experience. It’s such an innovation!
The entire session was more than an introduction to new fragrances, to say the least, as it also became an immersive encounter that celebrated the designer label’s ingenuity when it comes to perfumery. Thanks to Chow’s expertise, those who were in the masterclass now have a wealth of knowledge as well as a deeper appreciation for the complexities of fragrances and the refined characteristics that encapsulate Prada’s latest collections.
