Welcome to The Beauty Edit Honor Roll™️, our tribute to the trailblazers redefining the beauty industry. This series celebrates the personalities, publications, brands, and leaders who have sparked inspiration, broken barriers, and left a lasting mark on the world of beauty. Curated through votes from The Beauty Edit team and a panel of industry experts, The Beauty Edit Honor Roll™️ 2024 is a proud testament to Filipino ingenuity, creativity, and exceptional talent.
In the past year, we’ve been treated to beauty launches that once seemed like a dream. Before, if we wanted to perfectly shade-match our skin, we would have had to shop from big international brands like Fenty Beauty or Make Up For Ever. To support our favorite influencers, we had to navigate online resellers and unofficial e-commerce pages just to get our hands on their branded collaborations. And we could only watch as international content creators enjoyed exclusive beauty events from the biggest names.
But things have changed. Local beauty brands have truly stepped up, offering expanded shade ranges, world-class formulas, and innovative products that cater to Filipino needs. Now, we’re seeing our favorite creators collaborate with local brands to bring exciting new products to life, and we’re even able to experience beauty campaigns in person. In this edition of The Beauty Edit Honor Roll, we shine the spotlight on the most noteworthy makeup releases, collaborations, and campaigns of 2024.
Most Inclusive Makeup
These brands are transforming the local beauty scene with broader shade selections, making base products like foundation, concealer, and powder better suited to a wider range of Filipino complexions. By offering diverse shades, they’re ensuring that all consumers can find their perfect match and feel represented in the beauty industry.
Issy

This year has been an exciting one for Issy, with color cosmetics launches like their Lip Gelées, Lip Mousses, and Glitter Suspension Eyeshadows, to name a few. But the brand actually kicked off 2024 with the release of their Active Foundation Sampler Set, which includes three mini foundations within one shade family to help you find your most accurate match from their 27 available shades. They also launched their Issy Active Skin Stick this year, with 12 flexible shades for you to choose from.
Colourette

Colourette’s First Base Skin Tint has been a hit with consumers since its launch in 2023, with 15 shades curated specifically for Filipino skin. This year, they expanded their complexion range to include the Second Base Concealer. It has 10 shades that are made to complement the Skin Tint. As if that wasn’t inclusive enough, Colourette’s team created shade matrices for both their Skin Tint and Concealer, making it easier to find your shade match based on products you already own.
GRWM Cosmetics

Shortly after its launch in 2021, GRWM Cosmetics released their Radiance Tint, a multi-use makeup base that expanded from 12 shades to 28 in 2023—not including the five Radiance Tint Multi-use Base Shade Shifters that you can use to adjust the shade and undertone of your base makeup. In 2023, they also launched their Radiant Skin Luminous Foundation, a lightweight, medium-cover foundation that comes in 26 shades. Setting the bar high, GRWM’s announcement of the Face Card Launch at the 2024 GRWM Ball had us anticipating more inclusive options—and they delivered. The collection features the Face Card Multi-use Complexion Cream, a full-coverage, blurring base available in 12 shades.
Commendable Collaborations
There’s something special about seeing your favorite brand collaborate with your favorite content creator, and being able to support both while expanding your makeup collection is a definite bonus. These collaborations breathe fresh life into the brand, adding a fun and unique twist.
Happy Skin x Marj Maroket

Last year, Happy Skin and Marj Maroket collaborated to create the bestselling Happy Skin x Marj Brush Set. It included a sponge, buffing brush, foundation brush, all-around powder brush, cream cheek brush, setting brush, concealer brush, and an all-around blender brush—all in a chic standing brush case. This year, they expanded their collection to include eye brushes and even curated the Happy Skin x Marj Eyeshadow Palette. The brush set includes seven eye brushes and the eyeshadow palette has a versatile range of neutral shadow shades—it comes in matte, satin, and shimmer finishes and is formulated with hyaluronic acid and squalene to glide seamlessly on your eyes.
Vice Cosmetics x Jelly Eugenio

When it comes to makeup advice and recommendations, we usually turn to pro makeup artists to fill us in, which makes a collaboration between a celebrity makeup artist and a well-established beauty brand even more exciting. The Vice Cosmetics x Jelly Eugenio collection includes two face palettes and a travel brush set.
The palettes contain everything you need for a full face of makeup: lip and cheek crémes, lip balm, base brighteners, brightening powder, brontour, powder blush, highlighters, and eyeshadows. The Pretty Sweet Filter Palette has a softer color story, with a lot of pinks and blinding highlighters to give your face a gorgeous glow and subtle definition. Meanwhile, the Pretty Sexy Filter Palette offers a warm, peachy, nude, and bronze color scheme for a sunkissed look and natural flush. The W’Ever Brush Collection, a part of this collaboration, includes seven face and eye brushes that you can use together with the face palettes.
Buzzworthy Beauty Events
The way brands market their products can be just as fun and exciting as the products themselves. This year, we got to go to events and pop-ups that were able to highlight what makes the brands and their products so special—all while feeling appreciated and valued as their customer.
Issy Pinktopia

This open-to-all pop-up ran from August 31 to September 1, 2024 at Baked Studios, and the space was fully transformed into a pink lover’s heaven—with a giant pink Bear Lip Hugger at the center of it all. Here, the brand showcased its products, particularly the new Lip Mousse Tints, in the most pink-tastic way imaginable. Guests explored product displays, took cute pics at the photo booth, created charms for their pink pouches, and shopped for exclusive items like the Issy Pinktopia Tees. There were also special deals and freebies, including a free Issy Bear Lip Hugger with the purchase of three lip tints and free charms with the purchase of an Issy pouch.
GRWM Ball 2024

This year, GRWM Cosmetics held their fabulous and highly anticipated annual ball, inviting content creators, celebrities, and journalists to witness the launch of their holiday drop: the Face Card Collection. This extensive lineup features a whopping 126 products—blush, bronzers, contours, eyeshadows, and more—all designed to fit seamlessly into their sleek, customizable palettes. But the true highlight of the night was when GRWM Cosmetics introduced the brand’s newest ambassador and the face of the collection: none other than Heart Evangelista.
