In this edition of The Editor’s Room featuring Rustan’s The Beauty Source, guests were invited to Beauty 101—an immersive and interactive event arranged to help beauty lovers reconnect with themselves through the rituals of skincare, makeup, haircare, nails, and fragrance. For a more personal encounter, a thoughtfully curated journey was prepared to encourage guests to discover and learn about new favorites from cult-favorite brands as well as enjoy self-care as a truly immersive experience.
The journey began with a deep dive into haircare, where guests learned about their hair and scalp needs with the help of L’Occitane’s hair analysis tool. After understanding the current state of their hair, they moved on to a hands-on styling session featuring Acca Kappa’s signature brushes and BaByliss styling tools. Highlights included the Tourmaline Comfort Grip Hair Brush—ideal for reducing static and speeding up dry time—and the Kotibe Hair Brush, a gentle detangler with natural bristles suitable for all hair types, even children’s. As for BaByliss, guests were guided through styling techniques using straighteners and dryers to help them bring pro-level results to their everyday routines.
Next up was the makeup station, where expert makeup artists helped guests experiment with new looks. Stila, RMS Beauty, and Jane Iredale showcased their latest releases and cult favorites. Crowd-pleasers like Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner and Pocket Palette wowed with both versatility and staying power for on-the-go glam. From RMS Beauty, the Legendary Lip Oil and Cashmere Matte Eyelights cream shadows took center stage. Meanwhile, Jane Iredale offered clean beauty must-tries like the PurePressed Eyeshadow, ColorLuxe Lipstick, and Skintuition Foundation.
The skincare station offered a more mindful experience, encouraging guests to slow down and reconnect with their skin. Mario Badescu offered personalized skincare consultations and introduced guests to go-to classics like the Drying Lotion and Repairing Facial Spray. Over at L’Occitane, guests experienced a soothing gua sha ritual that spotlighted the Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum, a gentle treatment designed to help skin recover overnight and glow by morning. Grown Alchemist rounded out the skincare experience with the Restorative Hand Cream and Energize Body Cleanser, both packed with clean, botanical blends.
Experiencing fragrance should be personal, and the scent discovery was all about that. With Acca Kappa, guests explored iconic scents like White Moss Eau de Cologne and the delicate Sakura Tokyo Eau de Parfum. Malin+Goetz offered a curated lineup of perfumes and home scents with their signature minimalist approach. Guests were also invited to participate in a blindfolded fragrance challenge—a playful sensory activity where they guessed scents without seeing the bottles, adding a fun twist to the experience.
And finally, a quick pampering session awaited at the nail station, where OPI and Sally Hansen refreshed nails with care and color. OPI’s Nail Envy and Repair Mode—its first-ever bond-building nail serum—were available to try, alongside Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel collection, known for bold color and long-lasting wear. The perfect final touch to a complete beauty journey.
Of course, all of this unfolded as guests moved from station to station with bingo cards in hand—each one offering a chance to win exclusive beauty bags filled with products from the featured brands.
Beauty 101 was more than just a product showcase—it was a celebration of the moments we take to pause, explore, and reconnect with what makes beauty feel personal. It was a reminder that behind every product lies a ritual, a story, and an invitation to care for ourselves more intentionally.
